Stop Bugging Me! Tree Pests, Diseases & Drama Tree Walk & Workshop

Trees Knoxville is hosting a Tree Pest and Tree Care Walk at Morningside Park, focused on common tree pests, diseases, and treatment methods. Participants will learn how to identify common tree health concerns, understand preventative care practices, and explore practical approaches to maintaining healthy trees in urban landscapes. This class will combine discussion and hands-on observation throughout the park.

The workshop will be led by Brian Pickett of Bartlett Tree Experts. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from Oregon State University and began his career in arboriculture with Bartlett Tree Experts in 2014. He has served in multiple roles within the company, including Arborist Climber, Plant Health Care Specialist, Arborist Representative, and Local Office Manager in Knoxville.

Brian is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ), and a licensed commercial pesticide applicator in the state of Tennessee. Supported by the Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories, he helps property owners make informed decisions about tree and shrub care, with a particular passion for diagnosing and solving landscape issues.

Participants must register in advance. Please dress appropriately for outdoor weather conditions and walking activities.
