This event is completely free and family-friendly\, and a great opportunity to get outside\, meet neighbors\, and help grow a greener Knoxville. \n📅 April 16\, 2026🌳 Tree Planting: 5–7 PM🌱 Tree Adoption: 6:30–7:30 PM \nCome help us plant trees and support the neighborhood canopy. Community members will also have the opportunity to adopt a free 5-gallon tree to take home and plant. \nPlease register for the volunteer planting event.Registration is also required to receive a free 5-gallon tree. \nPlease dress appropriately for outdoor work and wear closed-toe shoes. DESCRIPTION:Trees Knoxville is partnering with Ijams Nature Center for the annual Weed Wrangle Knoxville event. This will be the second invasive species removal at Lennon-Seney United Methodist Church\, located in the heart of Knoxville. \nThe focus of this Weed Wrangle site will be the removal of privet\, an invasive plant that threatens native ecosystems and biodiversity. By removing privet\, volunteers will help restore a healthier habitat for native plants and wildlife. \nLunch will be provided by the church\, and we are incredibly grateful for the time and energy of our volunteers who make this work possible. \nTrees Knoxville and Ijams will provide the following equipment: \n\nShovels and other digging tools\nGloves\nSafety vests\n\nEvent Details\n Date: Saturday\, February 28\, 2026\nTime: 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.\nLocation: Lennon-Seney United Methodist Church\nAddress: 2084 Dandridge Avenue\, Knoxville\, TN 37915 \nAll experience levels are welcome.
